Welcome to the Miliku Lab!
At the Miliku Lab, we are dedicated to understanding the role of nutritional, socio-economical, environmental and genetic factors in shaping lifelong health.
Our research focuses on the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD), exploring how early life exposures (spanning preconception, pregnancy, childhood and adolescence) affect the risk of chronic diseases such as
obesity, asthma, and cardiovascular and metabolic conditions.
By integrating novel biostatistical techniques to examine nutrition, epidemiology, mother-father-child triad health, inflammation and gut microbiome, we aim to uncover actionable insights that can inform public health policies and clinical practice. Ultimately, our goal is to disentangle factors influencing the longitudinal trajectories of child development to improve outcomes for future generations.
